We are providing delegates with the opportunity to present a poster or oral presentation. We are calling for submissions demonstrating widening participation work which support people from widening participation backgrounds at any point in their medical careers. Submissions are open to individuals, pairs or groups from any background or university. This is a great opportunity to showcase your work on a national stage.
You many choose to submit either an abstract for poster presentation, and/or a video which will be shown to delegates as an oral presentation during the conference. Further details regarding the criteria for both submissions can be found below.
The submission deadline is Friday 5th November at 11.59pm GMT.
If your work is accepted, the presenter (the person who submits the abstract/video) must be able to attend on Saturday 20th November to present the work and therefore should register for the conference. All presenters will receive a certificate of presentation, as long as they attend at least 50% of the conference.
Poster Presentation
There is an opportunity to showcase your work as a poster presentation during our virtual poster gallery during the conference. You must submit an abstract via our form linked above and if selected, you will be asked to prepare a poster which will be uploaded to our virtual poster gallery.
Abstracts should be maximum 300 words (excluding title, author names, and references). Please note that, tables or graphs should not be used in the abstract. You are advised to use the following subheadings: BACKGROUND, METHODS, RESULTS, CONCLUSIONS.
All posters will be judged by members of the NMS WP Forum and two top-performing posters will be awarded a £50 price voucher each. Preference will be given to posters which relate to widening participation and related topics.
Oral Presentations
There is an opportunity to showcase your work as a pre-recored oral presentation, shown to delegates on the day of the conference. You must submit a short video about your work via our form linked above. The video should have a clear background and landscape orientation, and should be no longer than 3 minutes.
The submissions will be reviewed by the conference team and the top six, will be selected and played live to delegates at the conference. The presenter(s) will also be asked to participate in a live 3-minute Q&A session following display of their presentation.
All oral presentations will be judged by the members of the NMS WP Forum and £400 worth of prizes will be awarded to the best performing oral presentations.
