The National Medical Schools’ Widening Participation Forum (NMSWP) works across UK medical schools to break down barriers, empower underrepresented students, and shape a more inclusive future in healthcare.

Who We Are & What We Do

We are a national network of widening participation leads, outreach specialists, and passionate medical students from over 39 UK medical schools working to:

  • Influence national policy on access and inclusion
  • Collaborate across medical schools
  • Run Impactful Conferences and Outreach Events
  • Support Underrepresented students in their journey into medicine

We would like to invite anyone affiliated with a medical school or healthcare body, who is interested in supporting widening participation work (supporting individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in their medical careers) to connect with us. This can include staff, students and medicine graduates at any stage of their career.
